How to Set Up A Smoker

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Wood chips of your choice
  • 1 bag Hardwood charcoal
  • 1 pan Hot Water

Equipment

  • 1 Meat Smoker
  • 1 Lighter or Match

Method
 

  1. Ensure your smoker is clean and ready for use.
  2. Do this the day before to make life simpler on the day of smoking!
  3. Prepare the fuel by filling the charcoal basket or firebox with charcoal.
    1 bag Hardwood charcoal
  4. Set up for moisture by filling the water pan with hot water.
    1 pan Hot Water
  5. Establish airflow by opening the vents fully to start. This allows the smoker to reach your desired temperature.
  6. An ideal temperature can be around 225-250℉.
  7. Add wood chips once the smoker reaches the proper temperature.
    1 cup Wood chips of your choice
  8. Stabilize the temperature by adjusting the ventilation/dampers.
  9. Add your meat or other ingredients to the cooking grate once you have achieved a clean-burning fire.
  10. Smoke to your desired doneness.
