1. GONZAGA BULLDOGS (12-0) | LW: 1
The Zags added a couple more wins to their record this week, improving to 12-0. They defeated BYU by a score of 86-69 and then hit the road to defeat Portland 116-88. In the game against Portland Joel Ayayi made history by recording the first triple-double in program history.
THIS WEEK: 1/14 vs Pepperdine, 1/16 at St. Mary’s
2. BAYLOR BEARS (10-0) | LW: 2
Baylor managed to stay perfect with a couple of victories this past week. They impressively handled #22 Oklahoma, defeating them 76-61. They then went on the road to take on TCU, who they beat by a score of 67-49. Baylor is yet to win a game by less than 11 points.
THIS WEEK: 1/12 vs #16 West Virginia, 1/16 at #19 Texas Tech
3. VILLANOVA WILDCATS (8-1) | LW: 3
Villanova had yet another week off due to COVID-19, and they are about to have another one. The Wildcats have games postponed up until January 19th when they are supposed to host Seton Hall. Villanova’s last game was December 23rd.

4. TEXAS LONGHORNS (10-1) | LW: 4
The Longhorns recorded another big road win when they defeated the #13 West Virginia Mountaineers 72-70 on a late three-pointer from Andrew Jones. Texas trailed by 1 and were gifted an opportunity for the win when Emmitt Mathews Jr. of West Virginia missed two free throws with 10-seconds left. The ball would make its way to Jones in the corner who would drain a three with 1.1 seconds left. There is no doubt that this was an emotional day for Jones, as he hit that shot on the 3-year anniversary of his leukemia diagnosis.
THIS WEEK: 1/13 vs #19 Texas Tech, 1/16 vs Kansas State
5. IOWA HAWKEYES (11-2) | LW: 5
Iowa got some vengeance this week when they defeated #17 Minnesota 86-71. Luka Garza once again broke the 30-point mark, finishing the game with 33. This capped off a week where the Hawkeyes went into Maryland and impressively defeated the Terrapins 89-67.
