TOP 25 NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL RANKINGS – WEEK 7
What another great week of college football! We saw some incredible conference matchups and a couple of mid-to-lower ranked heavyweight matchups. We have James Madison University making an appearance in the rankings for the first time, and in its inaugural FBS season to boot. A couple of highly ranked matchups did not disappoint, and we have some new faces creeping up the list during these spooky times that have some ghosts of the past (USC & Penn State) back in the Top 10. UCLA finally has a team around Chip Kelly that can execute his game plans. This is a great point in the season as we see the best still at the top, with some unlikely contenders making enough noise to maybe pose a threat in the long run.
1. Georgia Bulldogs
Back to the top for the Bulldogs who leapfrog Alabama after dominating Auburn 42-10 at home. You can imagine the same result for the Bulldogs this week as they welcome Vanderbilt with a -38 opening spread in favor of Stetson Bennett & the boys.
2. Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes rolled into East Lansing and destroyed the Michigan State Spartans 49-20 as CJ Stroud threw for 361 yards and 6 TDs. They head into a nice bye week, as the team is rolling hot behind such a powerful offense.
3. Alabama Crimson Tide
Even with an injured Bryce Young, the Tide won 24-20 in a highly-anticipated SEC clash between Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban. Jalen Milroe filled in well for the injured Bryce Young and will most likely head back to the bench as Alabama will look to welcome back Young with a big win on the road over 6th ranked Tennessee in a game that sees Alabama as 7.5-point favorites.
4. Clemson Tigers
Massive 31-3 road win over Boston College as DJ Uiagalelei had a stellar game both rushing and throwing. They will have a tougher matchup next week on the road at Florida State as Dabo and his lot open at -3.5.
5. Michigan Wolverines
Took care of business with a 31-10 win on the road at Indiana. They will have a difficult battle this week vs 10th ranked Penn State in a highly anticipated Big Ten matchup. The Wolverines are favored by 7 points.
6. Tennessee Volunteers
Hendon Hooker led the Volunteers into LSU and took home a massive 40-13 victory over the “Bayou Bengals”. They will welcome the 3rd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide to Knoxville as they hope to upset their SEC rivals as 7-point underdogs.
7. USC Trojans
Caleb Williams continues his Heisman campaign as the Trojans stomped Washington State at home 30-14. They travel to 20th ranked Utah in a big PAC-12 matchup that has the Trojans as 3.5-point underdogs.
8. Oklahoma State Cowboys
41-31 home victory over a tough Texas Tech squad as Spencer Sanders dominated once again as he combined for 3 touchdowns. It will be another tough Big 12 matchup this week as they travel to 13th ranked TCU as 3.5-point dogs.
9. Ole Miss Rebels
After a slow start on the road against Vanderbilt, Ole Miss rallied and won 52-28 as Jaxson Dart threw for over 400 yards. They open as 14.5-point favorites at home against a weak Auburn squad.
10. Penn State Nittany Lions
Coming off a bye week they will be tested as they travel to 5th ranked Michigan in a Big Ten heavyweight matchup that has the Nittany Lions as +7 underdogs.
11. UCLA Bruins
42-32 victory over 11th ranked Utah at home that has Chip Kelly’s boys feeling great heading into a well-deserved bye week.
12. Oregon Ducks
Bo Nix led the Ducks into Arizona and won 49-22 in an easy PAC-12 victory. They will enjoy a nice bye this weekend.
13. TCU Horned Frogs
The Horned Frogs are surging after a big win against Big 12 rival and 19th ranked Kansas by a score of 38-31. TCU welcomes 8th ranked Oklahoma State in another highly anticipated Big 12 bash that has the Horned Frogs as 3.5-point favorites.
14. Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Wake Forest put on a 45-10 smackdown of Army on Saturday. The Demon Deacons will enjoy a nice bye week after a comfortable home win behind the outstanding play of their senior QB Sam Hartman.
15. NC State Wolfpack
Barely edging out Florida State 19-17 at home in a huge ACC win came at a terrible cost, as starting QB Devin Leary will be out 8 weeks minimum with a broken fibula. They travel to 18th ranked Syracuse next week as 3.5-point underdogs in another big ACC matchup.
16. Mississippi State Bulldogs
40-17 dismantling of the Arkansas Razorbacks as Will Rogers threw for 395 yards and 3 TDs in an easy home SEC win. They open as 7-point favorites on the road at 22nd ranked Kentucky who lost to South Carolina last week.
17. Kansas State Wildcats
Adrian Martinez has been on a war path with his new team and he led the Wildcats to another victory in a 10-9 win over Iowa State. They will enjoy a nice bye week after such a great start to the season.
18. Syracuse Orange
The Orange are coming off a bye week into a ranked ACC matchup vs #15 NC State – who will be without their star QB Denis Leary.
19. Kansas Jayhawks
38-31 defeat to 17th ranked TCU in a great football game. Kansas hopes to rally on the road against a struggling Oklahoma team in a game that has the Jayhawks as 7.5-point underdogs.
20. Utah Utes
42-32 defeat to Chip Kelly’s 18th ranked UCLA bunch. The Utes hope to rally at home against a USC squad who is currently ranked #7.

Edged out a 28-24 victory at home against South Florida. The Bearcats will enjoy a nice bye week.
22. Texas Longhorns
Quinn Ewers was back in action and dominated the Sooners for a 49-0 win. They will welcome Iowa State into their home as 16.5-point favorites to take down the Cyclones.
23. Kentucky Wildcats
Suffered a demoralizing 24-14 home defeat to South Carolina. 16th ranked Mississippi State is the Wildcats opponent this week which should be an entertaining SEC matchup that has the Wildcats as 7-point underdogs.
24. Illinois Fighting Illini
9-6 “grind-it-out” victory against a stout Iowa team has Brett Bielema king of the neighborhood. The Illini will welcome Minnesota this week as they will be 6.5-point underdogs in a game that is expected to be a Big Ten shootout.
25. James Madison Dukes
Roll Dukes baby! This first-year FBS team enjoys its first ranking ever after a 42-20 beatdown of Arkansas State. JMU is on the road again to Georgia Southern, and they open as 10.5-point favorites.
