It’s that time of the year again! When every day gives you a warm feeling, filled with anticipation, hope and surprises. No, I’m not talking about Christmas. I am obviously referring to Bowl Season! With all the bowl games set, I am going to give you a preview and my prediction for all 28 bowl games, as well as the National Championship!
-Due to scheduling difficulties, I am forced to break up the predictions into multiple posts. So be sure to check back for the rest of the previews & predictions!
Myrtle Beach Bowl (12/21)
Appalachian State (8-3) vs North Texas (4-5)
Appalachian State -19 / 62.5
Bowl Season kicks off between App State and a sub-500 North Texas squad. North Texas is most likely just feeling happy to be there. This makeshift season will feature some bowl games that feature teams with a losing record. North Texas is already a winner for appearing in this game at all, but Appalachian State will win the game on the field.
Appalachian State 45
North Texas 17
Idaho Potato Bowl (12/22)
Tulane (6-5) vs Nevada (6-2)
Tulane -4 / 56
Both of these teams have had rough patches this season. Earlier in the year Tulane had a 1-4 stretch. Nevada is coming into the game after losing 2 of their last 3. I look for Nevada to right the ship in this game.
Nevada 42
Tulane 38
Boca Raton Bowl (12/22)
UCF (6-3) vs #13 BYU (10-1)
BYU -5 / 72.5
The Cougars travel back to the east coast a few weeks after their perfect season was ended by Coastal Carolina. This time they will be playing a little further south when they take on UCF in the Boca Raton Bowl. I believe that playing in-state, while BYU has to travel, will benefit the Knights. I believe BYU wins this game; however, it will just be a little closer than expected.
