Brock & Shane’s NFL Best Bets – Week 18
Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders
Best Bet: Jerick McKinnon Anytime TD +125
Jerick has a receiving touchdown in 5 straight games. The Chiefs need to win this game, and
Jerick will be a big factor in that win. The Raiders linebackers are not good, and neither are their
safeties, so Jerick should find plenty of space and a minimum of 3 targets.
–SI
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars
Best Bet: Titans +6.5 -110
There’s a chance that Ryan Tannehill starts this game, in which case getting 6.5 points would feel great despite the Titans losing streak. Even if he doesn’t play, I’m comfortable getting almost a touchdown with the team who has extra rest in what is basically a playoff game between division rivals for which he us training using peloton compatible cycling shoes.
–BH
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons
Best Bet: Tyler Allgeier Over 55.5 Rush + Receiving Yards -115
Atlanta is full tilt here and I expect them to rely on the running game as they let Ridder work
comfortably into the NFL. Tyler has been reliable and a key part of this offense in the closing
weeks. Final game for the Falcons and it’s at home against an already playoff secured team that
might pull their starters at some point of the game.
–SI
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Best Bet: TJ Hockenson 5+ Receptions +100
The Chicago Bears are bad and will be without their only offensive weapon in Justin Fields. The
Vikings will play all their starters and Hockenson has been Kirk’s hot target these last couple of
weeks. With the offensive line banged up, I see him getting the ball out early and often.
–SI
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers
Best Bet: Steelers ML -150
I’m gonna back the Steelers to win here and keep Tomlin’s streak alive. Not to mention the Steelers will start this game still fighting for a playoff berth. Watson hasn’t looked great, Pickett has been getting by.
–BH
Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts
Best Bet: Under 38.5 -115
This game is going to be a disaster where both teams do the best they can to run clock and
somehow scrap something competitive in a game between two devastated teams.
–SI
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins
Best Bet: Over 38.5 -110
The Dolphins are fighting for their playoff life. The Jets are trying to spoil it for their division rival. There’s cause for both teams to play aggressive on offense and take some risks on 4th downs.
–BH
Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints
Best Bet: Taysom Hill Anytime TD +250
It’s time to pull out all the tricks and grind whatever touchdowns you can get. Taysom has
rushing touchdowns and over 12+ attempts in the past two weeks.
–SI
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
Best Bet: Patriots +7.5 -110
This is kind of uncharted territory. We’re all hoping for Damar Hamlin’s healthy, his teammates probably more so than anyone other than his family. I have no clue where this team will be at mentally. Undoubtedly they will be distracted, but whether that turns into inspired performances or poor play on the field, I haven’t the slightest idea. But the bottom line is this: this is a divisional rivalry game where the Patriots will start the game under the impression that they need a win to get into the postseason. Also, if the Chiefs win Saturday then the Bills will have been eliminated from the 1-seed if the game against Cincinnati is not resumed. With so many unanswered questions and uncertainties, I suppose it would be wisest to take the points.
–BH
Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
Best Bet: Ravens +9.5 -110
The NFL gave the Ravens some incentive in this game by opening up a possibility of a coin toss deciding home field in the playoffs should these teams meet again. But aside from that, I still like Baltimore in this game. The Ravens are catching 9.5 points in a divisional rivalry game with a total sitting below 40. Give me the points.
–BH
Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos
Best Bet: Chargers Team Total Over 18.5 -105
This Chargers team is getting healthy at the right time and will feast upon this mild sauce
offense of Denver. The Chargers will probably play the slow ground and pound unless the splash
plays land, so I imagine Denver’s defense will have a long day.
–SI
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
Best Bet: Eagles -14* -110
Jalen Hurts is questionable to return in this game. I’d wait until close to kickoff, and if he gets the start fire on Philly. The Giants have nothing to play for here, while the Eagles will be looking to lock up the division title AND a 1st Round bye in the playoffs.
*If Hurts returns
–BH
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers
Best Bet: Under 39.5 -110
The Arizona Cardinals are working with third team players besides their DL and LB group. JJ
Watt is going to leave it all out there as the Niners will do their best on both sides of the balls to
secure playoff seeding.
–SI
Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Best Bet: Rams +6.5 -105
The Seahawks have a lot to play for. The Rams don’t. Seattle is in a “must-win” situation, but “must-win” doesn’t mean “must-cover”. With all the Rams injuries they have still found ways to win a couple games, and Geno Smith isn’t exactly a QB that I would want if I needed to blow a team out. The Seahawks are near the bottom of the league in red zone efficiency on offense, while the Rams defense is #3. I think this one stays close.
–BH
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Commanders
Best Bet: Dalton Schultz Over 40.5 Receiving Yards -115
He has been a go-to safety valve for the Cowboys, and will be up against a divisional rival where they want
to secure a win. The Commanders may have a great defensive line, but their linebackers and
safeties are not good.
–SI
Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers
Best Bet: Packers -4 -110
The Lions have been one of the hottest teams in football, especially on offense, but on Sunday night they will be playing in one of the coldest venues. It only takes a quick glance to see that Jared Goff & company have a dip in production when they are away from their dome. On Sunday night they will step away from their turf and onto a frozen tundra in one of the most hostile environments in the NFL. This should be a hard-fought game. After all, if the Rams beat the Seahawks then Detroit will also be in a “win & you’re in” situation. But even the slightest miscue from Detroit could allow things to get ugly.
