Tyler breaks down some of the major fights taking place at UFC Holloway Vs Allen

Coming to us from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, we have a fun night of fights this Saturday night. I know most of you are still watching that Izzy KO from last week, but this card should be a nice follow-up that delivers us some beautiful, violent fighting.

Headlined by a featherweight scrap with title implications, the number two ranked Max Holloway takes on number four ranked Arnold Allen. Guys, I promise you that this fight will be a war and could easily be a pay-per-view headliner that we are getting for free!

This card has some really close fights and narrow betting lines. I’ll be looking to play this one safe and pick my spots carefully with limited plays.

Edson Barboza Vs Billy Quarantillo

My first play of the night comes late on the card. The 37-year old Edson Barboza will look to get back into the win column when taking on Billy Quarantillo. Barboza is coming off back-to-back losses (now 1-2) since moving to the featherweight division. Barboza has fought some absolute savages in his UFC career such as Justin Gaethje, Dan Hooker, Tony Ferguson and Kabib Nurmagomedov. Barboza is battle tested and looking to showcase that experience against Billy Q.

Quarantillo, now 5-2 in the UFC after winning in Dana White’s Contender Series, is facing his toughest test yet. Motivated more than ever, a win this weekend would definitely land him into the rankings of the featherweight division.

Unfortunately, I think Barboza will be too much for Quarantillo to handle. Barboza is relentless with those nasty kicks, has insane takedown defense, not to mention a massive 5 inch reach advantage. Although it is risky taking the older veteran that has suffered some major damage in his career, I’m still going with the dog in this one.

My Pick: Edson Barboza to win +152

Max Holloway Vs Arnold Allen

The former featherweight champ Max Holloway is coming off his trilogy fight loss to Alexander Volkanovski last year and is looking to make another run at the belt. The now 31-year old Holloway is never in a boring fight and the self proclaimed “best boxer in the UFC” might just be that. He lacks the power that will be coming back at him, but the sheer volume he pumps out is absolutely insane. His slick boxing and masterful head movement better be on point because he is squaring up against an absolute savage in Arnold Allen this weekend.

Arnold Allen, now 10-0 in the UFC, has been nothing but phenomenal since joining the organization in 2015. He has had some injuries derail his career, but his recent fights have him looking unstoppable. Allen is a big, powerful guy for this division and may be in line for a shot at the belt if he can defeat Holloway. Allen is going to be looking for another highlight finish this Saturday, but this is going to be a big test for the up and comer.

This is a coin flip for me, but I have to go with the guy who has been here before – and that is Max Holloway. Holloway has so much 5 round experience and has taken the current champ Volkanovski the distance in all three of their title fights. Max will look to outclass Allen and most likely out strike him enough to get the decision win.

My Pick: Max Holloway to win -188 and sprinkle Holloway to win by decision +180
