We’re roughly a week away from the 2023 NFL regular season, which means it’s time for teams to cut players in order to meet the active 53-man roster. Keep in mind, some veterans will likely be released of their current contracts, then resigned after the Week 1 deadline. This is done because teams can avoid what’s called the “vested veteran salary guarantee.”
The 53-man active rosters were to be completed by 4:00 PM EST on August 29, 2023. Let’s dive into the most notable releases prior to the start of the 2023 NFL Regular Season.
